Surya Nepal Asha Social Entrepreneurship Award 2012

Celebrating entrepreneurs who create social, environmental and economic values

About

There are many ordinary people doing extraordinary work to create social, environmental and economic value; often we do not even know about their great achievements.  Last year, in 2011, the Surya Nepal Asha Social Entrepreneurship Award (SNASEA) recognized such five winners for their achievements and encouraged others to follow these examples of individuals creating social, environmental and economic impact.  The Award they received has made a huge difference to their lives and has paved the way for them to scale and attain greater heights.

This year again, ChangeFusion Nepal announces the call for nominations/proposal for, the first ever award to recognize the Nepalese entrepreneurs who create value for PEOPLE, PLANET and PROFIT. We will bring those hidden heroes out to the public, award the best ventures and give all of our applicants the opportunity to join our network and promote their products or services. The vision of the award is not only to celebrate the hidden heroes for their great initiatives but also to showcase their ventures and the impact they have made. Thus, the Award will not just be a ceremony but a learning experience aimed at encouraging people to become ‘job creators’ instead of ‘job seekers’.

Additionally, National Business Initiative (NBI) Nepal is launching “AGENT OF CHANGE” to recognize and showcase the businesses that contribute in enterprise development and encourage the culture of entrepreneurship in Nepal. The goal is to facilitate the partnerships between the AGENT OF CHANGE who have the proven capacity to provide resources and the SNASEA awardees who have the proven ability to deliver solutions to social challenges. Thus, these potential partnerships can scale the capable social entrepreneurs to increase the scope of their organizations and create significant positive change in the society.

In solidarity,

ChangeFusion Nepal and National Business Initiative (NBI) Nepal
